Doris Power of Kingman, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home on Nov.
18, 2025, surrounded by her family, at the age of 90. She was born in
Prescott, Arizona, on Jan. 12, 1935, to Nancy D. Owen and Addison L.
Owen, as the youngest of five children. Her family later moved to
Kingman, where Doris attended all 12 years of school. After graduating
from high school, she pursued a nursing career, attending the University
of Arizona and later graduating from Stanford University School of

Doris worked as a Registered Nurse at Kingman Hospital but felt she
could better serve the younger generation. Doris retired from Kingman
Unified School District in 1990 as the High School Nurse. She was
dedicated to serving her local community. In 1980, Doris was a co-
founder of the Kingman Cancer Care Unit. She volunteered with KCCU for
45 years. She also volunteered with the Mohave County Department of
Public Health for many years. She was also a member of the Mohave Museum
of History and Arts. Doris truly believed in being kind and respectful
of everyone.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Mark T. Power. Doris is
survived by her daughter, Nancy Van Loan of Round Rock, Texas; son,
Billy Power of Kingman, Arizona; daughter, Kathleen Pena (Tim) of
Kingman, Arizona; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews who dearly loved her.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingman Cancer Care Unit, PO
