George F. Dill Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 7, 1923. Departed on March 11, 2004 and resided in Lake Montezuma, Arizona. George F. Dill, 80, of Lake Montezuma, Arizona passed away on Thursday, March 11th. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 7, 1923. Mr. Dill was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He was involved in the Campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Mr. Dill was the recipient of the European American Theater Ribbon with 4 bronze stars; the Good Conduct Ribbon; the Purple Heart; the Meritorius Unit Award and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Dill was a retired sales representtive having worked for Montgomery Ward. He was a member of VFW Post #7400 in Cottonwood, Arizona and he was also a parishoner at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Camp Verde, Arizona. He enjoyed computers, golf, and painting. Mr. Dill is survived by his wife of forty six years, Barbara; son, Toby Dill, Davisburg, Mich., daughters: Judy Tolliver, Holly, Mich.; Darleen Stoops, Portland, Or.; sister Beulah Rodd, Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, March 15th, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Camp Verde, at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be sent to the Montezuma/Rimrock Fire Department.
