Ardath Ann Eitzman, 65, of Tempe, Arizona, passed away April 17, 2004.

She is survived by her significant other, Elston "Bud" Ashpole, daughter JoJene Eitzman Mills, son-in-law Ronald Mills and grandchildren Carly Jean Mills and Ryan Mills.

Ardath was born in Coshocton, Ohio on June 8, 1938, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the Ohio State University and Arizona State University. She pledged Alpha Delta Pi sorority in Columbus, Ohio. She worked as an industrial publications editor for Roadway Express and Sperry and as a bank officer for Arizona Bank and Great Western Bank. In "retirement", she worked for the Tempe Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Arizona Cardinals. Ardath also actively supported the community through the Florence Crittendon Home and the Arizona Animal Welfare League. She loved quilting, knitting and needlepoint in her spare time.

A memorial service was held at Carr-Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Road in Tempe on Wednesday, April 21, 2004. Donations in lieu of flowers are suggested to Hospice of the Valley 1510 E Flower St. Phoenix, Az 85014-5669. Published in the Arizona Republic on 4/20/2004.
