| Lucino Tapia of Kingman died Monday, June 15, 2009, in Forest Lakes, AZ. He was born in San Jose, NM. Wyman Cremation and Burial Chapel of Mesa is handling arrangements. Published in The Kingman Daily Miner Friday, June 19, 2009. -------------------------------------- Luciano "Chano" Tapia passed away peacefully at his cherished cabin in Forest Lakes, Ariz., on June 15, 2009. He was born on Aug. 21, 1931, to Willie and Carlota Tapia in San Jose, N.M. In 1942, Chano and his family moved to Kingman, where he was to make his home and raise his family. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the war, he returned to Kingman and married Lucy Esquibel. He worked for Central Commercial for 17 years and for Ford Motor Company for 20 years. After retiring, summers were spent at their cabin, fishing and entertaining with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lucy Tapia; his daughter, Cathy, and her husband, Bill; son, Mark; and three grandchildren, Michael, Erica and Kyle, who affectionately called him Bebop. Chano is preceded in death by his mother and father and his brothers, Willie, Tomas and Roque. He is survived by his brothers, Magie and his wife, Mary; Leo and his wife, Joan; Floyd and his wife, Jeanette; and Philip and his wife, Rosalind. Chano will be missed by many. He was a good man who touched many lives. Visitation will be at St. Johns United Methodist Church, 1730 Kino Ave., Kingman. Viewing will start at 2 p.m. and services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. A reception will follow at the home of Leo and Joan Tapia, 2014 Sunset Blvd., Kingman.
