Fidel Delfio Garcia
May 20, 1925 – June 16, 2009

Born on May 20, 1925 in Saguache, Colorado, Fidel Delfio Garcia lost his battle with cancer in Glendale, Arizona, on June 16, 2009.

Fidel proudly served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946 on the USS Shipley Bay and at NTS Farragut, Idaho. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal Asiatic and the Pacific Campaign Medal 3 stars.

He moved to Kearny in 1953 where he was employed at Kennecott Copper Company for 33 years.

He is survived by son, Scott Garcia and his wife, Ilsa, and their children, Anthony, Jared, Gavin and Jordan, of Kearny; his daughter, Victoria Lockhart and her husband, Bob, and their son, Sean, of Spring, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jadeyn Marie Garcia.

Mr. Garcia will be interred in Saguache, Colorado, alongside his parents, Alejandro and Laurita Garcia, and many of his brothers and sisters. A small service will be held there.

The family was assisted by Griffith Mortuary.
