Eugene Patrick Waters, 47, passed into God's hands on September 23, 2005. Gene was the first child of Eugene and Patricia Waters. Born in New York, Gene moved with his family to Arizona in 1973. Gene graduated from Marcos De Niza High School and continued with his passion for learning, receiving both a Bachelors and Masters degree from Arizona State University. Gene's life's pursuit was helping the disadvantaged. For a time Gene owned a private counseling company. He later taught and headed up the Special Education Dept at Dysart High School. In 1988 Gene married the love of his life, Lucy. This union produced his greatest achievement, his children Diana and James. They were his pride and love, and his hopes for them could never be exceeded. Our Lord chose Gene to touch so many with his desire to help all those he loved with his kindness and altruistic heart. Gene is also survived by his beloved mother Patricia Waters; brothers Joseph, Daniel, Timothy and Kevin Waters; sister Coleen Carpenter; his brothers in spirit Clifford Anderson and Dante Proto; and a very loving extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. Visitation services were held Sunday at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Road, Mesa. Funeral services were held Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 E. Libra Dr, Tempe. Until all our Irish eyes are smiling together again, Gene and Dad, you're in God's hands and our hearts. We love you! Erin go Braugh. Arrangements entrusted Lakeshore Mortuary, Mesa.
