Nona Zimmerlin passed on to our Lord June 20, 2009, with her husband, three daughters and son-in-law at her side. She was born Nona Lafaye Fresh in Bushyhead, Okla., to Homer and Dora Fresh on May 27, 1927.

Nona worked at McDonald Douglas Aircraft before retiring. Her favorite pastimes included crocheting, puzzles, reading and card games, but especially being around her grandchildren.

Nona wed William V. Zimmerlin on Dec. 31, 1953, in Compton, Calif. They were happily married 55 years and resided these past 10 years in Prescott Valley, Ariz.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, who faithfully took tender, loving care of her after her first stroke in 1990. Nona is also survived by her daughters, Linda Lee (Johnson) Conner, who resides in Georgia with her family; Kathlene Ann (Johnson) Miller, who resides in Oregon; and Marie Louise (Zimmerlin) Garrett and her husband Scott, residing in California. She was grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of nine. She has many other relatives and friends who have admired this special woman who was an inspiration to all. She had a wonderful sense of humor; she was caring, positive and loving to all.

We would like to thank all of the people who helped and provided special care through Hospice of Yavapai Regional Medical Center. We shall all cherish the memories of Nona.
