| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona March 31, 2004 Mary Hortareas, was born in Platsa Messinias, Greece and immigrated to America in 1951. She married her husband Sam in 1953 and moved to Arizona in 1957. Mary is survived by her husband, daughter, two sons, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Mary was a wonderful sister, mother, yiayia and great yiayia she was a friend to all and a strong support to the family who loved her dearly. She touched many lives and brought happiness, she will be deeply missed. Viewing Wednesday March 31st, 2001, with Trisagion at Messinger Funeral Home, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. Funeral services were Thursday, April 1st at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1973 E.
