The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona June 27, 2007 Rita Elizabeth Klytta, 72, of Chandler & Scottsdale, Arizona passed away peacefully on June 23, 2007. Rita was born and grew up in Speyer am Rhein in Germany, which is where she met the handsome young American soldier who would later become her husband. As a spirited young girl of 18, Rita made the decision to leave her homeland and follow her heart, traveling to the United States to marry her beloved Hank Monti. They settled in Detroit, Michigan where they raised their family and where Rita proudly became an American citizen. A resident of Arizona since 1974, Rita loved travel, tennis, teddy bears, and most of all, her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Hank and is survived by her children; Arlena Zuzga and husband Joe, Eric Monti and wife Yanzi and David Monti; her grandson David Geer, granddaughter Dawn Mendence; great granddaughters Samantha & Grace and her nephews and extended family in Germany. Memorial Services will be held at the Messinger Mortuary Chapel located at 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale on Saturday, June 30th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita's name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. "Mutti" will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever.
