Robert Lanningham Gill of Cottonwood died on June 25 at the age of 80, which met his treasured goal of being the oldest Gill to date.

Bob retired from the Southern Union Gas Company after 30 years. He traveled across the United States from Maine to California in early retirement and later touted being "the oldest man on the river" as he skidooed on his Yamaha jet ski on the Colorado River at the age of 79.

Bob is superseded by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was a friend to all and was loved dearly by all who knew him. He will be in our hearts forever.

Services will be held Tuesday, June 30 at 10 AM in the Valley View Cemetery, A celebration of his life will follow at his home, 1003 N. 5th Street, Cottonwood.
