Richard C. Flynn, 69, of Cottonwood died June 14. He was born January 15, 1940 in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of Daniel and Ruth (Litner) Flynn.

He graduated from LaSalle High School and went on to California Polytechnic State University.

His career was with Bell Telephone of California and AT&T. He also was co-owner of Ruthies Tack Shop in New Jersey.

He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church of Sedona where he was a greeter. His hobbies included horses, fishing and coin collecting.

Mr. Flynn was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother Robert Flynn.

He leaves his wife of 32 years, Ruth (Leckness) Flynn; a son, Ken Flynn (Loreen) of Nevada; stepsons Stacy Willms and Stephen Willms, both of California and Richard Willms (Victoria) of California; daughters Cheryl Flynn of California and Patricia Sarnowski (Chris) of Pennsylvania; brothers Daniel Flynn (Louciel) of Connecticut and William Flynn of California, sister Evelyn Murphy of California and his former wife, Lynn Karlan of Nevada; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23 in the Westcott Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 10 a.m., at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sedona.
