| Hilda Johnson Waters Born in Romney, West Virginia on Oct. 20, 1919. Departed on Jan. 25, 2004 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Hilda Johnson Waters, 84, of Cottonwood, Ariz., died January 25 at Kachina Point Nursing Home in the Village of Oak Creek, Sedona, AZ. She was born near Romney, West Virginia, October 20, 1919. Hilda moved to Arizona in 1951. She served as a missionary on the Gila River Indian Reservation in the early 1950's. She, with her late husband Everett Johnson also helped in the beginning years at Miracle Valley Revival Center near Bisbee. Hilda and Everett opened a small business in Cottonwood in the early 1970's. Everett died in 1975, and Hilda remarried Chuck Waters in 1979. She was a member of the old Time Fiddlers. Hilda and Chuck enjoyed their RV and much of their free time was spent attending Old Time Fiddle contests throughout the west. In later years, Hilda enjoyed attending Little League baseball games and often stayed behind to clean up the ballfield. Hilda loved nature and the beauty of Arizona and the Verde Valley. Most of all, she loved God and Jesus Christ and wanted to be his servant. Mrs. Waters is survived by her two sons, Dan and Mark, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and special friend Anna Lee Evans. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday January 28 in the Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood, Arizona.
