Born in Gorham Township, New York on Feb. 15, 1912.
Departed on Aug. 26, 2007 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Evelyn Shaw Brewer, 95, resident of Cottonwood, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2007.

She was born February 15, 1912 to Hiram C. and Ethel F. (Gage) Shaw in Gorham Township, New York. She attended and graduated high school form Rushville, New York.

Evelyn worked as the Deputy Town Clerk in Pittsburgh, New York; as well as with the Conandaigua Hosptial Office in Conandaigue, New York.

She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star; and her husband, Ned was a 32nd degree mason and Shriner with Legion of Honor membership. Evelyn enjoyed music, art, leather tooling and woodworking.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ned Brewer; and her brothers, Maurice Shaw who was lost in WWII, and Merle Shaw.

She leaves behind her daughter, Bettie A. Whipple, husband, Earl, Cottonwood; her brother, Milton Shaw, wife, Lora, Phoenix; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Westcott Funeral Home.
