| Bessie Rosabelle (Greene) Schwartz Born in Nashville, North Carolina on Sep. 1, 1929 Departed on Jun. 20, 2006 and resided in Cornville, AZ. Bessie Rosabelle Schwartz, 76, resident of Cornville, Arizona, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2006. Bessie was born on September 1, 1929 in Nashville, North Carolina to William and Lena (Matthews) Greene. Bessie and her family owned and operated a restaurant in Rockford, Illinois. Bessie worked for Basha's for 26 years in the Bakery; working at all three Verde Valley locations; Camp Verde, Cottonwood and Sedona. Bessie will be remembered by many as the sweet lady who handed out samples of cookies to the children passing by. Bessie loved reading and studying scripture particularly end-time prophecy. She lived to share her faith in Jesus Christ. She served her Lord and Savior with all her being; she loved people and she enjoyed serving. She was a member of Cottonwood Assembly for the past 26 years and a member of Faith Center in Rockford, Illinois before moving to Arizona. Bessie served as a grade school teacher, Sunday school teacher; teaching for Vacation Bible School, Women's Ministries and was very talented in writing poetry and plays. She loved planning gatherings of family and friends. Bessie loved to sing and yodel and she loved to travel. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wilbur Henry Schwartz, Sr.; and her daughter, Elizabeth Faye Goad. Bessie leaves behind her sons, Ronald E. Schwartz, wife, Karen, Rockford, Ill., and Bill Schwartz, Jr., wife, Melanie, Cottonwood, Ariz.; her daughters, Pat Olsen with son, DeWayne Woodworth, Cornville, Ariz., and MaryAnn Dixon, husband, Mark, Cottonwood, Ariz.; brother, Oliver, N.C.; sisters, Goody of N.J., Anna Mae of Ill., Esther of Mo., Sue of Ill., and Sharry of Ill.; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., in Cottonwood, Arizona. Funeral Services will follow Wednesday morning, June 28, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God, 750 E. Mingus Ave., in Cottonwood, Arizona. Bessie will be laid to rest at the Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale, Arizona.
