| JOYCE BURPO, 72 TEMPE, Ariz. - Joyce Burpo, 72, of Tempe died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, after a short illness. She was born Sept. 8, 1934, in Rockford, Ill., to Harvey and Ruth Gilbertson. Joyce moved to Tempe four years ago but lived most of her life in Rockford. She was previously employed at Victory Tennis Club and Charles St. Presbyterian Church before retiring from Dahlgren Johnson Co. in 2003. Joyce attended Rockford schools and graduated in 1952 from West High School. Joyce was a very outgoing person who loved spending time with family and volunteering at church. She is survived by her sons, Bill (Penny), Brad (Susan), Bob and Bryan Blough; grandchildren, Nathan, Aaron, Crystal, Nikkolas, Kim, Jennifer and Emily; sister, Mary Ann (Don) Dion; brother, Jack (Pat) Gilbertson; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in St. Mark Lutheran Church, Rockford. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
