Noble L. Pirtle Born in Duncan on Sep. 10, 1915 Departed on Apr. 2, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, AZ. Noble Leroy Pirtle, 86, of Clarkdale, died March 31. He was born September 10, 1915 in Duncan, Arizona, the son of Clayburn and Elizabeth (Jones) Pirtle. Mr. Pirtle grew up in Sedona and was a resident of Clarkdale for over 42 years. He was Police Chief for the Clarkdale Police Department for ten years. He also had served as Captain of the Coconino County Sheriff's Department for two and half years. Mr. Pirtle is survived by his wife, Rosa Jean Pirtle; three sons, Robert J. Pirtle, Noble James Pirtle and Patrick Clayburn Pirtle; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gene Leroy Pirtle; four sisters and four brothers. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4 from 4-7 p.m. in the Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 5 at 11 AM in the Sedona Community Cemetery. Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood and Camp Verde, Arizona. |
