Frankie Darlene (Gibson) Pirtle

Frankie Darlene Pirtle, 88, of Cottonwood died July 16. She was born July 16, 1917 in Hydro, Oklahoma, the daughter of Frank and Bessie Gibson.

She attended school in Sedona. Family and church was her life. She was a Pastor's wife and mother of five boys. She also enjoyed playing guitar, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she enjoyed the outdoors and working in her yard and garden, traveling and talking on the phone with her sister Peggy. She always dreamed on traveling to the Holy Land.

Mrs. Pirtle was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cottonwood.

Her husband of 45 years, Clay Pirtle died in 1983.

She is survived by sons, Warren, Parks, Gordon, Coto De Carza, Calif., Kenneth, Sequim, Wash., Darrell, Cornville and David, Cottonwood; sisters, Peggy Dickinson, Sedona and Billie Miley, Litchfield Park; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Gibson of Cottonwood and Wade Gibson of Sedona and a sister, Lucille of Sedona.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19 in the Westcott Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 20 in the First Assembly of God Church at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in Cottonwood Cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood, Ariz., 86326.
