Departed on Dec. 6, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Adolph A. Gomez, 77, of Cottonwood died December 12. He was born March 6, 1925 in El Paso, Texas.

He retired from construction work. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving with the 101st Airborne.

Mr. Gomez was a member of the Church of God in Cottonwood. He was an active volunteer of the Northern Arizona Food Bank in Cottonwood. He was fondly known to his family and friends as 'Popo' and 'Frank' and was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends near or far.

He leaves five daughters, Christine T. Hidalgo, Chula Vista, Calif., Rebecca Sams, Azusa, Calif., Dominique Clark and two other daughters, all of Calif.; sisters, Delia Martinez, Sulema Barrigas and Lucy Armas, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; he also leaves several close friends in the Cottonwood area, including Cheffee Skaggs and family, Roy Kurtz and family, and Charlie and Marge.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 18 in the Cottonwood Cemetery at 10 a.m.
