Born in Chicago, Illinois on Aug. 28, 1922.
Departed on March 21, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Viola Edna Schwan, 79, of Cottonwood died March 21. She was born August 28, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois.

Mrs. Schwan was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church and also the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxillary.

She leaves her husband of eight years, Merritt J. Schwan; daughters, Violet Bunescu, Cottonwood and Karen Ferraro of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Ann Ehlers, Barrington, Ill.; a brother, Tom Rathmann, Wisc.; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 25 in the Peace Lutheran Church at 10 a.m.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church, 1450 E. Fir St., Cottonwood, Ariz., 86326.
