Frank "Pop" Smith of Avondale, Arizona, passed away March 8, 2005, survived by his wife of 45 years, Norma Smith, son Mitchell Smith of Avondale, David Smith of Avondale, Jeff Smith of Avondale, and Tammy Coulston of Avondale, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A master furniture maker, aircraft mechanic, artist, loved by all who knew him, decended into the darkness of Alzheimers disease.

Frank Ernest Smith
Frank Ernest "Pop" Smith, 67, of Glendale and formerly of Avondale, died March 8, 2005.

An Air Force veteran, Mr. Smith was an aircraft mechanic and a master carpenter. He also was an avid painter and artist.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Norma; one daughter, Tammy Coulston of Avondale; three sons, Mitchell, Jeff and David, of Avondale; four sisters, Dorothy Froscone, Shirley Bannond, Marion Patterson and Shirley Dempsey; one brother, George; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. March 21 at Best Funeral Chapel, 501 E. Dunlap Ave. in Phoenix. Interment with full military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Cave Creek and Pinnacle Peak roads in Phoenix.
