| The Wickenburg Sun the week of October 1, 2003 Donald W. McCaughey Donald W. McCaughey, 87, passed away on Sept. 24, 2003. Don was born Aug. 26, 1916 in Colony, Kan. to Roy and Mae McCaughey. He and his family moved to Phoenix in 1935, and he immediately started working for Arizona Sash and Door becoming manager of Tucson operations, then the Phoenix operation. He married Marcella McFadden on May 19, 1939, they had one son Ronald. Ronald married Ruth Ann Moore in 1975. He bought Arizona Mill Works in 1960 and sold the business in 1976. He retired but kept busy buying and selling real estate and playing golf. Don moved his family to Wickenburg in 1974. Everyone, including animals and children, liked Don. He is preceded in death by his son Ronald and sister Doris Landgraf. He is survived by his wife Marcella, sister Letoy Burns, daughter-in-law Ruth Ann McCaughey and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held at Frey Funeral Home on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003 with burial at Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Frey Funeral Home. See Also: Find A Grave |
