THE WICKENBURG SUN THE WEEK OF August 6, 2003 Edna Welch, 97, of Wenden, passed away Aug.1, 2003 in Peoria, Ariz. Edna was born June 29, 1906 in Buffalo, Ky. Mrs. Welch owned and operated Welch's Market in Wenden for many years. She was a seamstress, quilter and member of the ViSaWen Women's Club. Survivors include her son Joel Welch of Morristown, Ariz.; grandchildren Nita Smith of Chandler, Ariz., Harold Welch of Imperial Beach, Calif., Larry Welch of Phoenix, Ariz. and Jodee Valdez of Vancouver, Wash.; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dudley Welch. Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 7 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home. Service will be held Thursday, Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home. Pastor Dean Stanley will officiate. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Welch's name to Hospice of the Valley. Arrangements were handled by Wickenburg Funeral Home. |
