Betty J. McMorries, 82, of Wittmann, passed away on July 25, 2003 in Peoria.

Betty was born Jan. 12, 1921 in Chicago, Ill. She was a waitress.

Mrs. McMorries was known to her family as "the walker." She walked every day to keep fit. She now walks with the Lord, the Almighty. Mrs. McMorries is now with her husband Mac and the family that passed before her. She is happy now. She missed them all very much. That is who she is with now. She will be missed by everyone and she will not walk alone.

She is survived by her daughters Roberta Tate of Phoenix, Ariz., Ronni Haworth of Hemet, Calif., Gloria Drake of Wittmann, Ariz. and Babett; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and starting on great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mac McMorries; daughters Pat Waldrop of Lagrange, Ga. and Beryl Pieratt of Calhan, Colo.

Memorial services will be held Friday, August 1 at 3 p.m. at Frey Funeral Home. Pastor Dean Stanley will officiate.
