Douglas Hill Scofield

Douglas Hill Scofield, 78, of Fountain Hills passed away at home on July 2, 2008.

He was born Nov. 9, 1929 in Groveland, Calif. to Douglas and Aimee Scofield. He grew up in Early Intake and Moccasin Flat and attended high school in Sonora Calif.

Doug served in the U.S. Navy in California and Hawaii. He attended Arizona State University, obtaining an EE degree. He retired from Motorola after 37 years of service as a product and test engineer.

He loved to hunt and fish and spend time on his boat. He also enjoyed tinkering and inventing practical solutions for projects around the house. He was loved deeply by a large extended family and will be greatly missed by many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Paul and Robert Scofield. He is survived by his wife, Donna Youngs; children, Patricia Singer of Scottsdale, Aimee Rife (Scott) of Virginia, and Doug (Bud) Scofield (Karen) of Maricopa; grandchildren, Boyd and Sarah Scofield, Kathie Singer and Ryan, Casey and Jennifer Rife. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

Remembrances may be made in his behalf to a charity of the donor’s choice.
