Victoria Irene (Pawlowski) Schiller

Victoria Irene Schiller, 85, of Tempe, passed away June 6, 2008. She was a former long-time resident of Fountain Hills.

Vikki, as she was commonly called, was born March 23, 1923 in Greenwood, Pa. After high school she moved to Detroit and attended the University of Michigan Extension. Vikki worked as an executive secretary alongside her husband in his business in Michigan.

Once in Arizona she owned a gift shop in Fountain Hills. Her first love was writing. She wrote poetry, music lyrics and an advice column for The Fountain Hills Times.

Vikki was married 57 years to the love of her life, Al, and together they raised three children, Carol (Merle) Harris, Irene Lang and Alfred. Together they shared eight grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

Vikki was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Natalie Pawlowski. She is survived by her husband, Al; her three children; and a sister, Marian Soloski.

Private family services were held Saturday, June 7.

Vikki/mom gave the family the gift of love through tradition, a shared meal, a “meaning” of family and being together.

Donations may be made in Vikki’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 2525 E. Southern Ave., Tempe, AZ 85282. Please specify Friendship Village Unit. Tempe Mortuary assisted the family.
