David Paul Brown

In loving memory of David Paul Brown, born to parents Sabin and Barbara Brown at Wickenburg Community Hospital on Dec. 2, 1963.

Dave attended the Presbyterian Church and Wickenburg public schools, graduating in 1981. He participated in football, track, and wrote for the WHS Saddlebag magazine. After graduation he worked at The Wickenburg Sun and attended Prescott College studying graphic design.

Dave moved to Phoenix working as a manager for Target, then as an advertising artist until becoming employed at the corporate office of Bashas' as an advertising designer for their Food City chain of stores.

He enjoyed collecting comics and related art which led to a position managing All About Comics bookstore on weekends, attending the San Diego International Comic Book Convention for 10 years and being an active supporter and organizer for A.C.T.O.R., a fund to assist retired comic book writers and artists.

He designed Web sites and advertising for a variety of businesses, was an active member of the Phoenix Fantasy Film Society and the Phoenix Art Museum.

He passed away on May 24, 2003 at Phoenix Baptist Hospital, leaving behind many loving family, friends and co-workers. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Brown in Safford, Ariz.; brothers Harold Brown and Philip Brown of Wickenburg; also many relatives coast to coast. We will miss him greatly.

A memorial service will be held at Frey Funeral Home on Friday, June 6 at 4:30 p.m. An additional service will be held early next week in Phoenix.
