THE WICKENBURG SUN THE WEEK OF MAY 14, 2003

Harriet Amelia Viering entered the joys of heaven on May 8, 2003. She was born April 24, 1912 in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, Canada.

After twelfth grade, Harriet traveled to Ottawa to gain a degree at Provincial College, a feat she accomplished in three and one-half years. She then enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force where she served three years of active service as a World War II pilot, ferrying bombers across the Atlantic to England.

After the war, she became a U.S. citizen and migrated to Cleveland, Ohio, and took a job with Ohio Bell Telephone, making that her career until retirement at age 59. After retirement, she moved to Wickenburg. The many friends she made will miss her dearly.

Viewing is scheduled for Monday, May 19 at 11 a.m., with a service at 1 p.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 450 Rose Lane. Interment will follow the service at Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery, Kellis Road.
