Leonard Parker, 64, of Congress passed away July 11, 2002.
He was born and raised in Illinois.
Mr. Parker was a welder and later worked in a dairy processing plant.
Leonard loved Estes Park, Colo. In 1988, he moved to Estes Park and
started his own business. He then moved to Congress, Ariz., in 1992
and retired in 1994. After his retirement, he spent much time caring
for children who were in need of temporary homes.
He was a member of Mt. Hope Assembly of God Church.
Leonard's hobbies were fishing, traveling, camping and water skiing.
His favorite saying was, "Thanks to the man upstairs."Leonard is
survived by his wife Cheryl; brother Mel Parker; sisters Sue Parsons,
Margaret Hirth and Cleo Nash; children Michael Parker of Wickenburg,
Michelle Shriver of Prescott, Melissa Crouse of Stewartsville, N.J.,
and Mandy Quinby of Estes Park, Colo.; stepsons Tony Lamon of
Martinsburg, W.Va., and Matthew Lamon of Ellicott City, S.D.; and
grandchildren Sara, Samantha, Caleigh, Mandy, Joshua, Amber, Kenneth,
Anthony, John and Ben.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Friday (July 19) at the Mount Hope
Assembly of God Church, 500 Penn Lane in Wickenburg.Funeral services
will be held at 10 a.m. at Mount Hope Assembly of God Church,
followed by burial at the Congress Cemetery in Congress, Ariz.Frey
Funeral Home in Wickenburg handled all the arrangements.
