Gugel III was born in Wickenburg on Nov. 20, 1947 in the Old Community Hospital and passed away on Aug. 21, 2002 in Prescott. He was 54. He attended Wickenburg schools and graduated in 1965. He attended Northern Arizona University for a year and joined the U.S. Army in 1967, where he spent time in Germany in Communications and Radar. He was preceded in death by his father George W. Gugel, Jr. of Cave Creek, and aunt and uncle Ann and Vernon Boyd of Cave Creek. He is survived by his mother Ann Gugel of Wickenburg; sisters Ann Bidegain of Casa Grande; Judi Hill of Wickenburg, Lois (Dick) Aronson of Tolleson, and Jeri (Sil) Modesti of Phoenix; aunt Terri Mayer of El Mirage; daughters Shelby, Kristin and Nicole Gugel of Phoenix; one grandson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, send donations to St. Vincent DePaul of Wickenburg, St. Anthony's Building Fund, and Phoenix Children's Hospital, 2701 N. 16th St., Suite 120, Phoenix AZ. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 28) at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg.
