Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, December 6, 2007 Harold William Sands, 83, of Prescott, Ariz., died on Nov. 30, 2007, at his home. He was born Jan. 30, 1924, to Stanley Sands and Alpha Marie Quast in Los Angeles, Calif. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Jean Scott, of Oceanside, Calif. Harold was a sergeant in the U.S. Army serving in France during WWII. Shortly after his service, he met the love of his life, Helen Kauer. He is survived by his wife, Helen Sands of Prescott; their four children, Larry (Dominique) of Napa, Calif., Linda Engelhard (Rolf ) of Prescott, Marty Sands (Toni) of Lahaina, Maui, and Ron Sands (Tracey) of Prescott. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez, followed by an honor guard presentation at the National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Granite Mountain Hospice, 3107 Clearwater Dr., Prescott, Ariz. Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
