CHILDRESS, Walter R.

Walter R. Childress, 73, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on October 17, 1932 in Los Angeles, CA. Walt served in the National Guard in Los Angeles tank division and for 16 years he was a police officer in Culver City, CA; before going into business for himself. He retired to Lake Havasu City, AZ; in 1997. Walt is survived by his children, Richard Childress, Robert Childress, Scott Childress and Christine Childress-Gordon, step-children Danielle Reuff and Gregory Markel, sisters, Janice Childress-Murphy, Valentine "Val" Childress-Martinez and Penelope "Penny" Childress-Chu, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many dear friends at the Ramada Hotel and the entire community. Walt was everyone's friend and his laughter, smile and charm will be missed by all. He was deeply loved and will sorely be missed. Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Saturday, February 4, 2006 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
