Viola Laurine
Viola was born in 1912 to a farm family residing in Hancock County, Iowa. She was the second daughter of six siblings born to Theodore & Hilda Fredrickson who were first generation immigrants from southern Sweden. Viola attended a one room country school for her primary education and graduated from Britt High School "Class of 30" She was married to LeRoy Orville Eaton in 1935 and they remained in Britt, Iowa where Viola received an appointment by President Franklin D Roosevelt as Postmaster of the Britt Post Office. In 1941 at the out break of World War II, LeRoy enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was eventually stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. Viola resigned her appointment as Postmaster and joined LeRoy in Texas.
LeRoy & Viola had two Children Jarel LeRoy Eaton and David Wayne Eaton. During their working career Viola remained a housewife while LeRoy worked as a Civil Engineer for the Federal Government with the Bureau of Reclamation in Colorado, and the Department of Defense in New Mexico.
In 1970 Viola and LeRoy retired to Lake Havasu City, Arizona where they remained until their deaths. Both are interred in Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens cemetery in Mohave County Arizona.
