MATHIS, Gladys May

Gladys May Mathis, 89, passed away January 21, 2007 in Murrieta, CA. She was born on December 3, 1917 in Portland, OR. Up until 5 years ago, Gladys was a resident of Lake Havasu for 21 years. She was a member of Lake Havasu Baptist Church. Gladys was a very caring person. Her neighbor nominated her for the "Good Guy of Lake Havasu" award because she took care of them while they were sick. She even turned down a trip with her family to Sedona, so that she could continue to care for her neighbor. Gladys is survived by her sons, Ron Mathis of Murrieta, CA, Terry Mathis of Riverside County, CA and Don Mathis of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Grace Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darrell Mathis. A visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday, January 27, 2007 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 10:00 am at Lietz-Fraze Chapel followed by the interment at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. Rev. Byron Harrison will officiate.
