MICHALEK, Blanca Ernestina

Blanca Ernestina Michalek, 85, passed away October 9, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to Celso and Bertha (Garza) Cantu on November 11, 1923 in Tampico, Mexico. Blanca married her best friend William Michalek on October 25, 1947 and that same year she became a United States Citizen. She was a social worker for Los Angeles County in El Monte, CA and retired in 1993. Following the death of her husband in 1996, she moved to Lake Havasu. Blanca made friends wherever she went. Blanca is survived by her two sons, Michael Michalek and his wife Mary Beth of Perris, CA and Steve Michalek and his wife Coleen of Lake Havasu; sister, Elsa of Monterey, Mexico; grandchildren, Terry Waters and Rick Lamb and great grandchildren, Daniel and Krystal Waters. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 13, 2006, 2:00 pm at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. Deacon Tom Coe will officiate.
