FISH, Jack Leon


The White Mountain Independent's Online Edition - 08/06/2004 Jack Leon Fish, 73, died July 30, 2004 in Show Low. He was born in Fort Wayne and raised in Woodburn, Indiana. Jack joined the U.S. Air Force at a young age and proudly served his country for 20 years. While in the military he met Dympna Sullivan and they were married in 1956, and had four children, Jack, Carl, Valerie and William. Jack retired to Tucson in the 70s, this is where he met Doris Stiffler whom he married and gained six more children. In 1978 they adopted a daughter, Shannon and moved to Show Low. Jack owned and operated DJ's Trading Post for the next 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, constructing his house, and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed. Jack is survived by his wife, Doris of Show Low; four sons, Jack (Pam) Fish of Kokomo, Indiana, Carl (Mary) Fish of Tucson, William (Suzanne) Fish of Tucson, James (Linda) Stiffler of Queen Creek; seven daughters, Laurie (Terry) Isaacs, Valerie (Steve) Ross of Tucson, Sally (Martin) Navarro, Victoria (John) Boster of Ohio, Peggy Partee of Ohio, Shannon (Mark) Larsen of Show Low; one sister, Tandy (Jay) Mayer of Indiana; one brother, Lynn (Helen) Fish of Indiana; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Grave side services were held at the Show Low Cemetery Thursday, Aug. 5.
