Orrin William Behler Kanz, 79, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at his home in Show Low following a lengthy illness. Orrin was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Springfield, Mass., to the late John T. and Margarete (Groat) Kanz.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII as well as the Korean War.
After receiving his honorable discharge from the military, Orrin worked as an extruder operator for the company that manufactured Bayer Aspirin and All Laundry Detergent. He moved to Arizona 22 years ago from his native Massachusetts.
He was laid to rest with his wife, Ann Kanz, at Show Low Cemetery with military honors. He will be greatly missed by those whom he loved most.
He is survived by two daughters and two sons, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in October 2007 and a son and daughter.
Graveside services were held Saturday, July 12, at the Show Low Cemetery.
Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
