John Danford, 80, died Aug. 24, 2003 in Show Low.
He was born in Whiteriver and lived in Arizona all of his life. John started work at the Southwest Lumber Mill in McNary at a younger age and when the mill was closed he transferred to Whiteriver. He married Geneva Dayaye and together had five daughters and one son. They later divorced and he never remarried. He has been cared for at the nursing homes in Springerville and Show Low for about 10 years.
John is survived by his four daughters, Rosalita Wool, Caroline Danford, Margaret Gloshay and Geraldine Gordon; one son, Johnny Danford; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers Isaac Danford and Barry Danford and his daughter, Clarice Griggs.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 1 at the North Fork Miracle Church with a two-night wake beginning Saturday at 1 p.m. at the home of Ronald and Margaret Gloshay. Burial will be in the Whiteriver Cemetery.
Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
