Lowell Ray Rohrig, 79, a longtime resident of Wenden, Ariz., entered into rest on Jan. 21.
He was a great dad, grandpa, husband and brother who really loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Lowell belonged to the International Brotherhood of Operating Engineers Local 428 Union. Lowell worked on many projects such as the Glenn Canyon Dam, the Brenda Cut-off, Lake Havasu City street construction, the Central Arizona Project tunnel in Parker, Ariz., and many, many more. Lowell served in the Navy SeeBees branch of the service. He fondly told many sea stories.
Antiques and guns were among some of his favorite hobbies.
Lowell is survived by his four children Lowell Rohrig II, Lowette Rohrig-Dihel, Alexa Cox, Kimberly Carter; 13 grandchildren Jory, Ashley, Shawn, Kristee, Carabeth, Seth, Alyssa, Austin, Gareth, Jenessa, Nicholas, Cody, Danielle; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister Shirley Honea. He also leaves behind his faithful dog Pee Wee.
He was preceded in death by his father Alexander Rohrig, mother Nancy Rohrig and his wife Betty Rohrig.
Lowell was a very special brother, dad, grandfather, and friend and will be missed, along with his wit and wisdom.
