Talbert Altaha, 43, died in Whiteriver Feb. 20, 2004.
He was born Sept. 17, 1960. He was well known in the White Mountain area as a very talented basketball player and high school referee.
Talbert is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sherry Altaha; five daughters, Tamara Altaha, Makayla Altaha, Tasha Altaha, T'Yawna Altaha, T' Shawna Altaha; grandson DeeJay Bryant; parents, Lafe and Rebecca Altaha; two brothers Edmund Altaha and Monty Altaha; one sister, June Begay; one uncle, Christian Altaha, Sr.; aunts, Merle Pusher, Effie Wright, Mindy Tessay and Verna Tessay; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 at The Fort Apache Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with a two-day wake beginning at 1 p.m. at the residence of his mother and father, Lafe and Rebecca Altaha.
His body will be laid to rest in the Whiteriver Cemetery next to his beloved son, D.J.
