JOHNSON, Brandon (Tia)

The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 01/06/2004 Brandon "Tia" Johnson, 22, died Dec. 29, 2003 in Whiteriver. Tia was born and raised in Whiteriver. She attended Whiteriver Elementary School, Alchesay High School, and graduated from the Renaissance Academy in Pinetop in 2001. She's since been working as a firefighter with the Forestry Division of the White Mountain Apache Tribe. She was a member of the Ft. Apache Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tia is survived by her father Edwin Johnson and step-mother, Esperanza of McNary, two sisters Leia Johnson, and Kyra "Little Flower" Johnson of Whiteriver; grandparents Callis and Shirlene Lupe of Whiteriver. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 3 at The Fort Apache Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Internment will be held in the Whiteriver Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
