ELLIS, Bertha Lorrine

The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 12/07/2004 Bertha Lorrine Ellis, 92, died Dec. 2, 2004 in Safford. She was born in Orrick, Missouri, where she was raised and worked on a farm. In Nov. of 1938 she married Ulysses W. Ellis, Sr. in Buckeye. Following their marriage they moved numerous times while her husband worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. When he retired, they made their home in Holbrook in 1967. Bertha is survived by two sons, Ulysses W. Ellis, Jr. of Peoria and Virgil Lee Ellis of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; four daughters, Bertha Mae Shelton of Safford, Betty Ann Stephens of Pinetop, Victoria Marie Edwards of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Virginia Ann Farnholtz of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one sister, Della A. Brooks of Richmond, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979. Grave side services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 at the Holbrook Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Holbrook handled the arrangements
