Newman C. Clark, 87, of Flagstaff died Nov. 6, 2006 in Victorville, Calif.
He was born in Indian Wells, he attended school in Santa Fe, NM and Riverside Indian School, from where he graduated. Following school he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served during WWII. Following the war, he met and later married Anne C. Charles in Phoenix. Following their marriage they made their home in Winslow, where he worked many different jobs. Later they moved to Barstow, Calif. where he worked as a painter for the Marine Corps. He retired from his work with the Marines in 1976. Following his retirement, he and Anne traveled and enjoyed time with their family.
Newman is survived by his wife, Anne C. Clark of Barstow, Calif.; daughter, Lena A. (Alexander) Guza of Bartsow, Calif.; son, Newman C. Clark, Jr. of Flagstaff; sisters, Ellen Nez of Holbrook, Lena John of Indian Wells, Daisey Nelson of Holbrook and Susan Morris of Dilcon; brother, Frances Clark of Indian Wells; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at First Southern Baptist Church in Holbrook. Interment will be in Holbrook Cemetery.
Owens Mortuary of Holbrook handled the arrangements.
