MOORHOUSE, James Cole


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, May 25, 2006 James Cole Moorhouse passed away on May 19, 2006, at the VA hospital at age 66. Cole was born Oct. 20, 1939, the son of Walter and Freda (Farmer) Moorhouse in Aspermont, Texas. Cole served in the USMC as a young man. He has been in this part of the country since 1968. He worked on many Arizona ranches: ORO, 00, Diamond A's, Fort Rock, Babbits and Mule Shoe. He also punched cows in other states, too many to recall. Cole spent his last five years at the CV Ranch in Paulden with his good friends Beano and Wendy Kimball. He was the richest man alive; he had more friends than he could count on both hands. Cole dedicated his life to family, friends and honesty. Cole is loved and missed but he will not be forgotten, as his legacy lives on. Cole is survived by his son, Walter William (Willie) and (Kate) Moorhouse of Prescott; daughter Kellie (Ray) Smith of Dewey; grandchildren, Lindsey, Heather, Ciara, lyier, Hunter and Luke; and one greatgrandchild, Dylan. Cole is also survived by his sister, Mary (Doug) Taylor of Pipe Creek, Texas, and his brother, William (Bill) Edward Moorhouse of Kingman, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents. A gathering will take place on Saturday, May 27, from noon to whenever at the Windsock on Iron Springs Road in Prescott. The Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
