Carl Peek passed away Jan. 27 at his home in Wittmann, Ariz. He was born in Naples, Texas, in 1913.
Oldest child in a family of 11, Carl traveled many roads and wore many hats as he followed the path life had set before him. The recent passage of his life-long friend and wife of 70 years Eddie Peek in 2004 focused Carl on a long-held dream of writing. A recently finished manuscript of his travels and experiences is pending publication. Titled “My Moment in Time,” it allows a glimpse of the early 1900s in Texas, New Mexico, and California.
Carl is survived by daughters Wanda McDonald and Bettie Goff of South Carolina; sons James Peek of Wittmann and Gayland Peek of Texas; sisters Elizabeth Doss, Myrtle Cox, Merle Singer, Billie Holcomb all of California; and 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 4 at Harper Chapel in Phoenix.
Interment at Green Acres in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Carl requested any donations be given to Hospice of the Valley in memory of the wonderful care they extended to him and his family.
