On May 20, Evelyn died at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise after several years of extended illnesses. In 1993 she married the Rev. Ed Wessling who was serving as pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wickenburg. When Evelyn’s illnesses required assisted living, the Wesslings moved to Chaparral Winds in Surprise. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 27 at 11 a.m. at Crown of Life Lutheran Church on Spanish Garden Drive in Sun City West (623-546-6228). Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 14066 W. Waddell Road, Surprise AZ 85379, or to Lutheran Summer Music Academy, 122 W. Franklin Ave., Suite 230, Minneapolis, MN 55404. On July 1, Rev. Wessling will again take up residence in his Wickenburg home at 610 N. Madison Street.
