Son of William C & Mary Caroline (Bursey) Pierce. Unnamed & undated Prescott (AZ) newspaper Died--Near Walnut Grove, April 1, 1897, George Bursey Pierce, aged 25 years, 10 months and 20 days. Arizona Weekly Journal Miner, Prescott, AZ April 7, 1897 George Neat drove in from Walnut Grove yesterday, to secure a coffin for the burial of Geo. Pierce, of that place, who was killed in a mine near Placeritas yesterday morning. Deceased was a son of Mr and Mrs William Pierce, of Walnut Grove. He was engaged, with his two brothers, in developing a claim, and yesterday, while at work a rock fell, striking him on the side of his head, breaking his neck. He was buried this afternoon.
