The Wickenburg Sun,Wickenburg, AZ December 22, 1993, Page A-2 Margery (Mama Marge) Burkhart Johnson of Wickenburg died Dec. 15 in Wickenburg. She was 69. Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 20, 1924 in Vinton, Iowa, and had lived in Arizona for 33 years. She was a child care provider in Wickenburg and also in Iowa. She was a member of the Wickenburg Town Council from 1978 to 1982. Mrs. Johnson served on the Wickenburg Parks and Recreation Committee from April 1983 to June 1985. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Wickenburg. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Sherri Burkhart of Wickenburg; grandchildren Becky, Joseph and Michael Burkhart, also of Wickenburg; sister, Ester Price of Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth and Doris Olson, also of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her first husband Dean Burkhart in 1986 and her second husband Charles Johnson in 1992. Funeral services will be held Thursday (Dec. 23) at 2 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church of Wickenburg, with burial to follow at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Pastor Delbert Henderson will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Johnson's name at the First Southern Baptist Church of Wickenburg, 360 W. Yavapai, Wickenburg, AZ 85390. Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg handled the arrangements.
