Floyd
Floyd Mahon was born on Sept. 4, 1923 in Red Jacket, W. Va. to the late Lain Mahon and Roxi Cisco. He passed away on Sept. 8, in Fountain Hills.
Floyd served in the United States Army during WWII. He returned to West Virginia where he worked as a coal miner. After being diagnosed with Black Lung Disease, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1957.
For the next 11 years Floyd was employed by the Arizona Republic newspaper in their security department.
Floyd met and married his wife Maryclaire (Gelinas) Mahon in September of 1961. They built a home in Fountain Hills in the early 1980’s where they have resided ever since.
Floyd was a 25 year member of the Lions Club of Fountain Hills. He served as president of the Fountain Hills Lions Club for two years.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Maryclaire; son Roger Mahon of Prescott and a close family friend, Ava Cornelius.
Funeral services were held in the Chapel at Messinger’s Fountain Hills Mortuary on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007.
