ALFORD,
William Brewster
William Brewster Alford II, 90, passed away on June 10, 2007 in Fountain Hills. Bill was born Feb. 26, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio and spent much of his life in Hudson, Ohio, before moving to Arizona in 1959.
In 1966 he moved to Southern California. Then after working for Howard Johnson’s Hotels in sales, he relocated to Northern California and in 1993 moved back to Arizona. Bill had several careers with his last venture being the owner of a hardware store in the small community of Bolinas, Calif. for 20 years.
Bill’s philosophy of living was unique. He definitely lived just one day at a time. He was known as an entertaining fellow, a funny guy and one that loved baseball, especially the New York Yankees. He was admired for his integrity and many virtues, though he was modest.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years (Janet) and a son (Jack Burrow) of Polk, Ohio. His spirit will live on thru surviving family members: Diane Penn (Bob) of Camino, Calif., Shireen Rhoades (Fred) of Fountain. Hills, William Alford III and Robert Alford (Vicki), both of Apache Junction; brother Dary Alford (Joy) of Gig Harbor, Wash.; daughter-in-law Joan Burrow, Polk, Ohio.; and 10 grandchildren.
There will be no formal services.
