FRANK, Jeanne Louise

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, August 26, 2009 In her nearly 80 years on this Earth, Jeanne Louise Frank touched countless lives and effortlessly earned the love of her family, friends and associates. Born in Toledo, Ohio, on May 29, 1930, Jeanne moved to Arizona as a teenager and graduated from Phoenix Union High School. She later became a proud member of the nursing profession. After raising a family, Jeanne and her husband Dan moved to Prescott in the 1970s and devoted herself to improving the lives of the community's downtrodden, first as a social worker for the Salvation Army, then as co-founder and director of the Project Aware Homeless Shelter. In her 10 years with the shelter, she tirelessly advocated for the homeless, not only to provide for their physical needs, but also to fight for recognition of their dignity and worth. Among countless other activities, she was a valuable member of the Prescott Antique Auto Club and the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary. In May of this year, she and Dan celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their sons Dann, Glenn and Bill. She passed away on Aug. 24, 2009. Her loving family will miss her terribly but take great comfort in knowing what a full and giving life she led. There will be a memorial service for Jeanne 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at the PAAC clubhouse on Osburn Road behind the county building on Fair Street in Prescott. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home is assisting the family. Information provided by survivors.
